John Ballard was elected President of the Alba Economic Development Corporation in the recent election of officers. Ballard who was previously the Vice President has been filling in as acting President after the position was vacated due to the resignation earlier this year of former President Jan Feil.
Other officers elected were Orvin Carroll, Vice President and Karyn Margos, Secretary/Treasurer.
The City of Alba EDC has been consulting with Dan Boutwell, of Municipal Planning Resources Group, Inc. (MPRG) who they contracted with earlier this year. Boutwell was scheduled to have the comprehensive plan ready at the meeting but had some questions on the map that needed to be cleared up before he could include it in the comprehensive plan. Now that those questions are answered, he will have the brochures ready at the next meeting on November 27. He would also like to go over the zoning ordinance on this date. He will attend the December 4 City Council to present what he has done this far and address any questions council members may have.
Since the City of Alba already owns a domain name, the new web site should be up and online soon. Bids for web site design and hosting are still being considered before it is contracted out.
The next Economic Development Corporation meeting will be November 27, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Alba City Hall and is open to the public.
