January 2007

How is a city or town recognized if the name is not spelled out in print? By the city logo, of course. That is why the Alba Economic Development Corporation is sponsoring a logo contest and offering cash prizes. The contest will run through Noon, February 26, 2007.

In a recent meeting, the newly designed pamphlet was reviewed and discussed. Some changes were suggested, voted on and approved by the board. The comprehensive plan is taking shape and Mr. Dan Boutwell, the consultant contracted by the EDC is making the suggested revisions to the initial overall plan.

Citizens will have an opportunity for input and questions and concerns will be addressed in public meetings that will be held soon. Any and all inquiries of the Alba Economic Development Corporation are appreciated. The EDC is diligently working on a comprehensive plan for the economic development of The City of Alba, and one that will have the most favorable and positive impact on the citizens.

There are many avenues and resources that will be available in the future, however, they are not ready for access at this time.

There is a state mandated process for economic development. The current Board members of the Alba EDC are steadfastly pursuing the current goal of a comprehensive land use plan. The Board meets on a monthly basis at Alba City Hall on the last Monday of the month at 2:00. There are exceptions such as holidays when the meeting date and time are worked around holidays and special called meetings. An agenda will be posted at City Hall.
