Alba to receive new Dollar General store.  Grand opening October 30,2010!    D'Argent Constuction

 completed the construction of the the new Dollar General.  Some events leading up to date are water tap completed on June 21'st , ground breaking ceremonies attended by city officials. 

Underground tanks were removed with soil samples taken and sent to the lab for evaluation.  Store construction started in late June with dirt work. The new Dollar General store really took shape when the building started in mid July. 

It really happened, Sunday October 10th 2010 Store Manager Amanda Bohannan opened the doors to Alba's newest and most exciting retail business!  The first customers to enter the store were Joy Flannagan and Kay Sherman both from Alba.  The first customer to check out was Danna Weisert, also from Alba.  There were at least 20 cars in the parking lot just prior to opening, at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Sunday when the store opened.  Special thanks to Rich from D'Argent for the rapid build process, and store merchandiser Debbie Evens! 

Ms. Bohannon also mentioned that the store will be having its GRAND OPENING October 30th with extended hours.  Dollar General normal business hours are 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. 7 days a week.  Ceremonies to include ribbon cutting, hot dogs, free prizes, as well as KMOO radio (99.9) will be broadcasting live from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m..
