Phase II Water Line Project Due to Begin    

August 18, 2010 The City of Alba awarded the new 284K dollar water well to C. Miller Drilling of Winnsboro Texas.  The Phase II project will not only include a new well which will be approximately 500 feet deep consisting of a 100 gpm pump with 15hp motor, located on Farrington Street. As Well as 10500 Feet of new water lines, through out the City.  The site is part of a $1,130,000 water improvement project approved by Texas Water Development Board in early 2007.  On this one half acre site purchased from the Watson family will include 2 small out buildings, and chlorination system that will tie directly into the distribution system. City officials were very optimistic that the completion date would be late October 2010.  Following the water well project will be the second half of phase II including replacing old 2-inch lines, transfer services from existing 2-inch lines to new 6-inch lines and install new valves to allow isolation of lines. The project will provide improved water distribution and production capacity for the city.
