On December 5, 2011 The City of Alba Awarded a 40K dollar Phase II Water Line Project to B. Bray Construction of Paris Texas. This project is to include over 10500 feet of new 6 inch water mains with isolation valves and 21 new fire hydrants, two new high service pumps to be installed at the cities #1 North well location on FM 17 approximately 2 miles north of Alba. The new 6 inch water mains will be replacing old 2 inch lines to meet requirements of Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requirements. The preconstruction meeting is scheduled for Thursday February 2 2012 at 11:00 am at City Hall, new line instulation should take place approximately 30 after this meeting. The new water lines will be a continuation of Phase I project, line extensions will include Cooper, Katy, North Hopkins, Farrington, South Osborn, Grand Saline streets as well as FM17 and US Hwy 69. The new 30 horse power high service pumps being installed will be capable of pumping 400 gallons per minute each, again to bring the pump station up to the TCEQ requirements.
