ALBA'S ANNUAL WILD HOG COOK-OFF

Come on out to the Alba annual Wild Hog Cook-off fundraiser for the Alba Public Library and Museum.  Come join the fun.  Visit our Library and Museum now open.  Cash prizes provided by Alba Economic Development Corp.

 

1ST Prize: $1,000   2nd place $700,  3rd place $300

 

 

Presentation prize is $25.00 Cash

 

  • Judging will be on Saturday, at 11am.  Bring your sample for judging.
  • No alcohol permitted on premises.
  • Teams can set up on Friday, at 5pm.  A  team member or represntive must remain on site all night Friday or the team will be disqualified from judging.
  • 50 lb. Meat minimum, wild hog only.
  • all Meat must be cooked on site; however, pre-marinating will be permitted.
  • All smokers must be charcoal or wood burning.  Cooking preparation must be available on site.
  • Water and electricity will be available. 
  • Each team must have a cook to attend "cookers meeting" Friday evening at 9pm.
  • Numbers will be issued on Saturday morning at 11am when sample is presented for judging.
  • Judging plates will be 1 to 10 points with 10 being the highest points given for 1st place.
  • For 2nd and 3rd places, plates will be judged from 9 downward to 1, with 1 point being the lowest.
  • Meat must be delivered to fire station by 11:30 for public lunch.  Donations will support the library and museum.

Alba has a new "Welcome to Alba" brick sign at Broadway and US Highway 69.  Local resident Lloyd Swoape built the sign and menbers of the Iris Garden Club of Golden under direction of Sherry Lindsey and Ann Medlin planted dwarf nandina, blue salvia and sweet patato vines.  Seasonal annuals will complement the permanent plants for eye appeal year-round.welcomectr19.jpg
